Steadman’s passion is developing others and innovating initiatives with societal impact.
He spent twenty-two years with the Center for Creative Leadership, opening their East Africa and Middle-East office in Addis Ababa and pioneering Leadership Beyond Boundaries, a movement that brought leadership development to 500,000 people across Africa over 5 years. He remains a senior associate with CCL. Steadman is a champion for the democratization of leader development where he continuously pushes for more affordable, accessible, and scalable solutions for human development.
He is passionate about facilitating dialogue-driven learning experiences capable of transforming individuals, groups, organizations, and whole societies. Steadman has lived in Ethiopia for 8 years and began his work in Eastern Africa in 2005.
Steadman lives in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he oversees Lead Beyond. His wife Alyssa is a principal at Bingham Academy; their oldest son is a student at the United States Naval Academy, and they have two other sons in school.
