Global Opportunities Manager

 
  • Lead Beyond, Inc is a global provider of human development solutions with a mission to equip leaders with essential tools to thrive and navigate crisis, change, and conflict.

    We are currently looking for a Global Opportunities Director who will drive our business development and grants opportunities around the world. The Global Opportunities Director is a key leadership role, combining grants management and business development. This position will be responsible for growing our client portfolio, managing donor relationships, and identifying new business opportunities to support Lead Beyond's mission. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in grants management, business development, and/or international development.

    The job is fully remote, with ideal candidates based in the Global South. The selected candidate will report to our Executive Director.

    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships to expand Lead Beyond's reach and impact.

    • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including international NGOs, donor organizations, and corporate partners.

    • Create and implement strategies to diversify funding sources and increase organizational sustainability.

    • Represent Lead Beyond at conferences, workshops, and networking events to promote our mission and attract potential donors and partners.

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive grants strategy to secure funding from international NGOs and donor organizations.

    • Identify and research potential grant opportunities that align with Lead Beyond's mission and goals.

    • Write and submit compelling grant proposals, ensuring alignment with funder requirements and organizational priorities.

    • Manage grant reporting, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines and timely submission of reports.

    • Maintain accurate records of grant activities, including deadlines, funding received, and impact metrics.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in grants management and business development, preferably in the non-profit sector.

    • Bachelor's degree in International Development, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

    • Proven track record of sales success and/or securing funding.

    • Strong understanding of the international development landscape and leadership & organizational development preferred.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write compelling grant proposals and reports.

    • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

    • Strategic thinker with strong organizational and project management skills.

    • Ability to work remotely and independently.

Project Manager

(ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA)

    We are currently looking for an Ethiopia-based Project Manager for a large project with USAID. The ideal candidate has project management experience, is highly detail oriented, and cares about leadership and organizational development. We are also looking for a candidate who can flexibly handle a variety of other responsibilities as needed by the project (including but not limited to training & facilitation).

    This role is full-time and hybrid (part in person, partly virtual).

    • Maintain clear and effective communication with project team members, stakeholders, and clients.

    • Project Planning: Drive project planning, outlining project goals, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.

    • Establish project milestones, ensuring alignment with overall project goals.

    • Consistently monitor project process, maintaining and updating Lead Beyond and consortium partner's project tracking systems

    • Identify implementation issues and challenges

    • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.

    • Assist with other project responsibilities as needed.

    • 5+ years of work experience desired.

    • Proficiency in English language required, fluency preferred.

    • Bachelor's degree required.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Notion preferred.

    • Detail-orientation, timeliness, strategic thinking, strong organizational and project management skills, are all desired.

    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative is preferred.

    • Experience with public speaking and comfort with large audiences is an advantage.

    • Curiosity, growth mindset, and flexibility are advantages.
